This is a brilliant initiative, but as others have said it needs much more publicity. It's not even well publicised on this site! I only found this note by accident while browsing around. I suggest putting a link on the home page of this web site and on as many other related web sites as you can find. And a few posters around the city centre too. Perhaps some journalists could be persuaded to write about it.

@Can C. Itcoming: Some bike stands were moved to provide space for Dublinbike stations because they need an electricity and broadband connection and one metre clearance to underground services. Bike stands on the other hand can be put in most places and where removed were relocated as near as possible. At the moment we are increasing the number of bike stands around the city - see public consultation on this site. There are no plans to charge for Drury Street bike park.

I have noticed that many existing on street bike parking racks were removed to make way for the commercial Dublin Bike scheme.
There should be an on-street public bike space for every commercial dublin bike park space.
In all probability Drury St will start charging.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

this is fantastic- well done to all involved. i have been trying to decide if i can be bothered buying a replacement for my poor bike that was stolen last week but finding this has made my mind up. i have been whingeing about the apparent chronic lack of will to combat bike theft but this gives me cause for hope.

It's open from 7.30am to 1.00am Monday to Saturday and 11.00am to 7.00pm on Sundays. Not sure if you can leave a bike overnight but I can't see how it would be a problem.

They definitely need to publicise it more as there is always loads of space available. Fair play, though, for setting it up.

Excellent facility, well done DCC. The location is perfect for the first of these facilities. However it really needs to be marketed more...i suspect awareness of the facitliy is very low - some ads round town maybe, signposts etc?
